2011-08-05 What do you believe about people?

Your underlying assumptions about people will show through. Do you believe that people will do the right things if given the opportunity? When people seem to be underperforming, ask yourself what may be standing in their way of doing the right things. Do they know how their work is essential to the bigger picture? Do they have the power to make decisions around how or what they are doing? Have they been recognized for what they have contributed? Have they perceived that they've been listened to? Are they feeling connected to the other folks at work? Help create an atmosphere that says you matter and watch more and more of your people shine and deliver.
