Question: How do I get people to care more about the bottom line?
Answer: You can't make people do anything. (Sorry about that!) People are more inclined to do great work and make good choices (financial and otherwise) if they can see the connection between what they do and the bigger picture. So how much are you sharing with your staff about your key goals? Do they know and, ideally, did they contribute to setting these targets? People are more likely to buy in if they understand why something is important. Spending time in these conversations upfront will create more opportunity and potential for people to choose to care about what you see as really important.
